What is Reiki
Reiki was developed in Japan in 1922 by Mida Usui and was brought to the West in 1937 by Hawayo Takata. The popularity of Reiki has grown exponentially in the past few decades. Dr. Usui says that Reiki is “The secret art of inviting happiness” and “The miraculous medicine of all diseases”.
The awareness that an unseen energy flows through all living things and directly affects the quality of a person’s health has been part of the wisdom of many cultures since ancient times. When your life energy is low, it is more difficult to deal with stress; you may not sleep well, and you’re more susceptible to illness. When your life energy is strong, you feel strong, can more easily deal with stress, and are less likely to get sick.
Reiki is a technique that increases a person’s supply of life energy.
Reiki combines Rei or Spiritual Wisdom with Ki or Life Energy – with some amazing results. Reiki can never cause harm. It never depletes your energy. Anyone can learn it. And once you have been attuned, it will be with you for the rest of your life.
Reiki is not taught in the way other healing techniques are taught. The ability is transferred to the student by the Reiki Master during a placement process. During the placement, the Rei or God Consciousness adjusts the student’s chakras and energy pathways and links the student to the Reiki source.
A placement is very powerful energetically; your energy will start to shift and move toward this higher frequency. Sometimes, when this happens, the shift can be uncomfortable. We can even become physically ill before the class as the body begins to shift and shed illness and energy that it no longer needs so it can move to a higher healing frequency.

Reiki Sessions
I start the session by discussing which areas of healing the Client wish to focus on. During the Reiki session, the Client lies fully clothed and relaxed on a massage table while soft soothing music is played in the background. Next, Reiki energy is systematically directed into specific areas of your body’s chakras.
The first Reiki session will likely be focused on using the gentle energy to clear the limitations and pain from the Client’s past. As the pain from their past clears, I will use the more advance Reiki energy to help the Client manifest their life’s vision and bring their dreams alive.
At the end of a Reiki session, it is typical to feel relaxed, recharged and refreshed and ready to make life changes and regain your happiness.
The first visit will take approximately 1.5 hours and the cost is $160.00 (including HST).
All future sessions will be conducted based on the needs of my clients and the cost is $55.00 (including HST) per 30 minutes increments.
